Van re-vamp

So it was decided that our trusty old van should go on to pastures new, we decided to buy something a bit bigger to enable us to sleep in it should the need arise.

We finally found one, and got the garage to fit us some flettner roof vents, a must if your carrying your most precious cargo. Our new van came from TMH Self Drive

inside back

extra - long wheelbase

more pictures as we progress through the re vamp

So we have now got as far as removing the bulk head, and are awaiting the windows for opposite side panels to arrive. This should give so much needed light and ventilation without making the rear of the van to hot. Both will be tinted. These are being made by Leisure Vehicle Windows

As these are being made to our specifications they will take two weeks to arrive, so we thought we had best attempt to try to get on with the roof and insulation - where upon we hit our first snag, how to get round those much needed roof vents!!. After asking for ideas, someone came up with a great idea, but more of the as we progress

In the meantime we have managed to put some of the insulation in the back, as the van will be going to Barjo pretty soon to have its cages put in. So the ply lining was put in at the back, and we felt the best bet was to lino the whole area, having been to the mud bath that was Sherwood Pines rally and bought half of it home with us : )

The other news is that the windows arrived and have been fitted, the whole look of the van has changed

We have now had the cages put in for the dogs, these were made to our own specifications, each dog has its own and two escape doors. It can also have the dividers at the top removed to create one big cage

for more details on custom cages, amongst other things please visit Barjo's website

heres our mals in there crates, the GSDs will also travel in the bottom

So the most recent development with regard to the Van is that the logo and musher design have not been put on the outside. We were having a photo of Storm on the bonnet but decided it wouldnt look quite right, but when we get round to it will be having paw prints instead. The outside has turned out better than we couldve hoped for.
